| De Havilland Tiger Moth G-ALWS will become
a familiar sight over Mid-Wales later this year when its restoration is completed at
Welshpool. This machine served in the RAF until after
WW II, when it was sold to AST at Southampton where this photograph was taken in about
1950. It passed through several hands before being bought by Tony Beynon and brought
to Welshpool about four years ago.
The fuselage and two wings are still to be restored. Sadly,
the original Gipsy Major engine is not in good condition and will have to be replaced. |
