Noise can be a nuisance...so be a considerate pilot!
13/08/98

Pilots should understand that the sound of aircraft engines can be very irritating to some people on the ground.

In the interests of good relations with our neighbours, pilots must be responsible citizens and be careful not to overfly the areas marked on the map.  Obvious sensitive areas include Welshpool town and the village of Forden, as marked in the picture.

The finger of un-wooded land on the hill near Forden, known as 'The Stub', must be avoided. This is on the downwind leg of the circuit for runway 22.

And on the downwind leg of the circuit for runway 04, do not fly between the main A483 road and the airport.

The areas are easy to discern when in an aircraft, and we ask all pilots to exercise care.  Instructors, in particular should ensure their students are aware of the importance of responsible airman-ship.

REMEMBER

On take off from runway 22, maintain the centre line and do not turn before reaching 750 feet.
The downwind leg for runway 22 should be inside the long mountain to avoid Forden village and The Stub.
Do not fly between runway 04 and the main A483 road.
